Just got back from the 5:30 AM visit. Mikie is doing FANTASTIC! He is breathing on his own, his stats are very good, though his heart rate and temp is up just a bit, but thats pretty normal for post-op. His blood pressure is normal, and his blood gases are within normal (not just acceptable, but NORMAL) ranges. Since the old shunt was removed, a temporary tube was placed in Mikies head. There is now longer a manual pump but now it drains on its own and the spinal fluid is clear! We are waiting for word for when they will pull the tubing from the ventilator, but so far he is doing far better than he did two years ago at this point in the procedure.
God is so good. Words can not express how grateful we are to our Lord for his grace and mercy right now.
