5 PM visit. They had not started to feed him yet. I pushed the nurse a bit and he asked Dr. Chang and she told him to start him on the same food he got back in STICU. I won’t be surprised when we go up at 8:30 to find out that he still has not been fed. Mikie does look good. Roderick said that he had to suction him out some and he was just now going to give him some codeine. I’ve getting a little concerned that they are giving him too much relief for pain that he probably isn’t having. I don’t think Mikie is in much pain at all, but he is probably uncomfortable. We know how to make him comfortable at home. I got a look at his rear end today when we were in the radiology department and it looks like a mess. It will take us a month back at home to get him straightened out. I suppose I can’t blame it all on the hospital. He has been on some pretty potent antibiotics and it tends to kill even the good bugs, giving him the runs and that can be tough on his butt.
No one is talking about when they will put in the new shunt yet, but my guess is still on Friday.
