I’ve been with Mikie all morning. He did get sick last night and then again around 9 this morning. I have him up in his chair again and he is doing fine. Lorraine is home, still feeling pretty dizzy. I needed to get her prescription filled and just couldn’t figure out how I was going to do it but God answered our prayers before we even asked by sending Susie Petterson along. She dropped off what looks like a great lunch and took the prescription to the pharmacy.
Dr. Sheldon just dropped by to talk about Mikie’s blood sugar levels. They have been going up and down like crazy and now it is a bit high. Doc says he doesn’t think we need to do anything right now but should follow it up after we leave with our regular doc, maybe within a month. I talked with him about the GI tract problems but it isn’t his area of expertise, so he wasn’t much help. He was a little concerned with us not having a regular doc, so to say, as we use First Care. I asked if he knew what that meant and he said it was like a ‘doc in a box’ and that Mikie should see a regular internist. I did explain that First care was not a franchise but a private practice and he then gave his approval. Since Dr. Weston retired we have felt that First Care would suffice since with most of Mikie’s problems we go directly to specialists anyway. I do think it might to get a test kit to check blood sugar levels, even for all of us.
Dr. Narayan was just here a short time ago. I mentioned Dr. Chuck Heaten from radiology, the doc that put the tube in and he agreed that they should get a consult from him and possibly one of the surgeons about this problem with getting sick every 12 hours or so.

I’ve got to run Lorraine’s medicine home so I am going shortly and will be back in about 30 minutes.
