Tomorrow I want to try to feed Mikie a little bit by mouth and see if that starts things working as they should.  I figure that the bile is just sitting down there waiting for some work to do.  (Remember, it has a job, it is supposed to break down the food that leaves the stomach.)  That bile is just sitting there in the gall bladder eager to work and it jumps out there every once in a while looking for food.  It doesn’t find it so it jumps up to the stomach figuring there must be some up there.  It waits and waits, nothing ever comes down.  It doesn’t know that just 22” down the road in the jejunum there is plenty of good nutritious stuff just eager to be broken down for the body to put to use.  So finally it says to itself, no sense in hanging around here, let’s take a short cut and get out of here.  So up it comes.  Well, maybe if we drop something in there it might go ahead and start down the road in the proper direction.  And when it gets down there and finds that there is more food there, it might just learn something and send the message back to its bile brothers and sisters and then they all will start taking the long way down instead of the short cut. And then everything will come out as it should in the end.

Makes sense to me, how about you?  Imagine me explaining this to Lorraine as we were waiting for a table at the restaurant this evening.  I wonder why those people left?  I thought they were hungry.  Lorraine thought it was quite amusing and it made me think that you might be amused as well.
