We are trying desperately to get out of this hospital. The hold up was his hemoglobin level as it was low yesterday and they gave him two units of blood last night. It came back up today to almost normal, certainly close enough. His INR level from the PT test is just under 2 and it should be between 2 and 3. He is getting Lovenox injections and Coumadin tablets as blood thinners to correct it. The doc said he wants to be sure we have follow-up in place for this and his antibiotics and then we can go. He will have the social worker talk to Lorraine tomorrow, and hopefully we can be on our way tomorrow evening.
I saw our Doctor, Dr. Young this afternoon. We consider him Mikie’s primary doctor but he does not do hospitals, so we are stuck with the in house docs. He did say they could do the follow-up through home health services and they could set it up but to try to do it through the hospital first. He also gave us the name of a doctor that does house visits and would be good to do follow-up in that way, if possible.
