I guess we pushed the food just a bit too much and too fast today, Mikie lost it all. It was going so well so we picked up the speed to 60 ml per hour and let it go for a bit more than 6 hours straight. Then this morning we put some meds and water on top of that and started the food up again. I noticed that it had gotten pretty thick and wasnt pumping so well so I stopped it and we started a fresh can and bag, again at 60 ml per hour. He even got his lunch meds but after a couple of hours it all came up, as well as out the other end. He actually felt a lot better after that and has been in a pretty good mood since. We gave him a can of the not so strong Carnation Instant Breakfast early this evening and he seemed fine so we also gave him his evening meds and started a can of his regular food, but Im slowing this down to 30 ml per hour for the night.
Mikie is going off to the day care in the morning, even riding the bus there and back if all goes well. Hes looking pretty good, really doing well and we dont think that his losing it today is the sign of anything wrong because we clearly see where we made a few mistakes in his feeding.
He threw his rail off the bed a while ago, and was pretty pleased with himself for doing it! Im going to take some time tomorrow and do some bed rail modifications.
