Potterpalooza

I went to the Harry Potter book release for the Half Blood Prince the other night. Way too many hippies,freaks and goth folks walking around to suit my conservative taste. Despite all that the wierdest thing there was a 40 year old 280 pound man walking around in a dress and red wig pretending to be Hermione Granger. Do yourself a favor Jethro, shave off the 5 o'clock shadow, lose the wig and the dress, and get down on your knees and apologize to your son for having an embarrassment for a father.

I couldn't help but notice the look of shame on the little kids face as his dad walked him around the store in that dress and everybody stopped dead in their tracks. I guess there was this unspoken code that all the men would either dress like Harry or Ronald or a Hogwart's student in general but this moron broke the code of man and it was most uncool. Like I always say if a man goes out in public in a wig and dress he's probably wearing that shit in private too.

I personally went as a Potter character of my own creation. I call him Négro DeBlackass. As a matter of fact I'm dressed as him right now.

The guy seemed to like all the attention. Even though his kid was clearly humiliated. There were a lot of parents there with young kids and you could tell that they were pissed. You could just tell that some of the little tykes were wondering what the hell was going on. I can't imagine having a five or six year old and having to explain that.

As I was walking out of the store this 13 year old whose mom was picking him and some friends up goes "Hey mom there was this old guy walking around in there dressed like a girl!" The look on her face was priceless. I was surprised by the fact that a lot of parents left their kids there unattended. Mostly kids in their early teens though.
