It's five o'clock somewhere!

Still working on my "real" blog entry since I don't feel I'm hitting the right tone yet but my friend Gary of Nofatchicks.com sent me a photo where I thought the basic idea was funny but the image itself was very sloppily put together. The graphic itself was quite grainy as well and the guy in the photo is fairly dark skinned so you can barely make his face out so I searched Google to try to find a better quality image. The problem is that with photos like these everybody takes from everybody else and there are all the different sizes and not everyone knows how to properly blow up a photo. If you just change the size and hit the save button alot of times it can mess with the quality of the image as I've learned through experimenting with Adobe Photoshop. I used to blow up an image and get this jagged mess but after reading a few tutorials I learned a few things.

Anyway I couldn't find a better quality image so I decided to make one myself from scratch. I found a decent copy of the AP photo and downloaded the proper font style. Next I blew up the photo and added more lighting so that you can actually see the guys face and sharpened the image just a bit. I'm no pro but compared to the other images I've seen I think it's an improvement. Do a search for Heineken looter and you'll see a ton of these most taken from the same source. I did manage to find one version that is far superior to this one and I wish I knew who designed it because I'd hire him in a second to do work here. I won't be showing that one yet but hopefully I'll have it up sometime down the line. So enough blabbering, here is my version of the so called "Heineken Looter" and in case you're wondering I don't consider beer to be a necessity of life so I would consider this looting but what difference does it make now?

...Perhaps he didn't want the contents of the bottle to exacerbate the toxicity of the water. Now that's public-'spirited'ness'!
