I'm back....sorta.

I've been taking a break from blogging quite so much because I'm trying to finish working on a few new websites that I've got on the back burner. Among them are justnameme.com which will act as a sister site to this one and there will be some major changes to Just Blog Me as well. We will be adding podcasting, more templates and mobile blogging as well. I'm really excited about everything that we have going on as we head steadfast into the new year.

My friend Aaron just finished working on the first of what I hope will be many novels. As I listened to him tell me about his book I sucked up the courage and mentioned a series of stories that I began creating over six years ago that was originally supposed to be a screenplay. I've tried numerous times to tell friends and family about these stories and these characters but too often they simply tuned out and just said "That's cool." as if I had said nothing at all. Aaron didn't do that, he actually listened to me and my story and seemed genuinely interested in it. He even went so far as to suggest that I write the damn thing.

I've decided that I will indeed attempt to write my novel. It will be a science fiction book called Brand and as I mentioned before the story has been sitting around for quite a few years so I have plots for over a dozen other novels that follow the lives of these characters, but if I can write the first three which is the main branching off point I would be satisfied. I'm not going to rush it but it would be nice if I had a book to publish sometime next year.

Do it man, write your novels. I would love to be able to sit down and create something so significant. Perhaps someday I will; I just have to be ready to put forth the time and effort to do it right. I'll also have to summon the courage.

Being further down the road than me, I think you're at that point. Or close to it. Let's see what you got.

I've never written a novel before so who knows what I'll come up with. I'm going through my old notes now as I'm sure that after over 6 years there are things I want to change.

trust me, if you have been thinking about it for 6 years, you have more than enough material. After awhile, anyways, the story just takes over and you are just along for the ride. I actually need to start writing my second one, but I'm off today and I have a date with Doom 3 and a 6 pack, later.
